Strength of God, shield of my life,
I have only tears of gratitude,
no more words, no requests,
I only rest in your goodness
and mercy, see only your kind eyes
that have looked with grace upon me
through all my cries of anguish
and my feelings of everything
slipping into the void, feeling I have
failed to fulfill the mission, having
tried to emulate your strength
and waiting on God's timing for all
that was meant to unfold. You, giant
guardian, have loved me forever as I
have wandered through this desert life.
You have held me in the wings of God
and protected me when arrows fly
from every direction and there is no place
to lay my head. You have given me
the moon and shone upon me
as the sun. You have acknowledged
the service of my heart and its true love
for this world that would forsake me.
You have come to sit beside me when
those to whom I belong have cast me aside
or denied my gift outright, pretending
I was wholly inconsequential, invisible
to their eyes. When I have sat here
beside the still waters and wept a world
of sadness, you have comforted me.
Strength of God, shield of my life,
your faithful love has been a light to me
in my long night and I thank God
for your strength when I have none
and know it is enough and you will meet me
in my heart's brokenness and stay with me
until I find my breath and begin again.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
