Treacherous—
a land mine you say
that on a whim
takes life and limb
from one who dares
to enter in
Safe haven—
a playground I say
to have a grand adventure
explore true nature
and restore the good
you left yourself to find there
Lecherous—
a prison you say
filled with ghoulish ghosts
hungry to devour
innocence the most
quick to abandon post
Freedom’s home—
a treasure I say
waiting to be found
turning upside down
high castles and low standards
that cakes you in muddy brown
Tempestuous—
a tyrant you say
paranoid and proud
false self who vowed
to kill kindness at will
reckless recluse living loud
Gracious field—
a blessing I say
in valley of your heart
between all the mountains
that keep us apart
a river runs through your heart
Incestuous—
a villain you say
a player here then gone
predator preying upon
true friends and pretender
who stays away anon
Life’s Bounty—
a true friend I say
rainbow promise fixed
ever shining through
steady hope no more mixed
with backlashes and licks
Sweet Reflections—
a miracle we say
invisible tetrahedron dome
welcoming both traveler and gnome
this river to which we belong
our life our love our home
