Devastated by Contentment

I have always wanted to ask you this:
was it true that you had learned in the end
to be content in all things?

And if so how was it that you, having made
friend after friend with powers that be (and have become
now the leviathan upon which one is waiting
to crown himself and climb upon)—

How was it that you could plead
for reconciliation between two
in a distant land, applauding
these women endowed
with endless adoration for you
as well as the funding of your vision
while forgetting, except for your little footnote
to free your conscience and appease his story's history—

How was it then that you could make your appeal for unity
and forget what you divided with your sword of shame
and how it cut me to the core and left a cry
echoing down the chasm of time?

If the pain still proves palpable to you,
can you not imagine the cruel twist of the knife
when you only spoke of me in passing as one who had worked,
past tense, even as you gushed over others elevated by now
to the status of sister or deemed worthy of whatever positions
you provided, along with other services in kind...

Can you not imagine how I, who day by day remained faithful
to bearing witness to it all, to include all the love and loss
that passed between us like tears to fill an ocean....
how I lost my place in time and have yet to reclaim it?

Was this truly in keeping with that revelation of a mystery
I first shared with you?

Is this what it was you set out to create, content
at the center in your world of commendation?

Still, I seek first the kingdom, realm of His peace
that passes understanding but do not find
the contentment to which you were so blessed
to be restored if indeed your words were true .

I like to think somehow it was true
for love is what I would want for you.

I am restless on the open seas of time
because you seem to have forgotten
how I risked it all for you and loved you
till the end and even now,
(working hard here too
because we've only just begun),
choose love and life
in the utter devastation
of this beginning again,
twisting twisting twisting,
turning in the wind.
