Peril. Prophecy. Possibility. Maybe don't let this one slip by unseen...
This morning the heavens opened
to grant me this reprieve;
to pour out Light upon the land
to give you second sight
To reveal sycophants and serpents
all around, to heal your heavy heart
with sacred sound and eternal echoes
so that you may see and know
Falsity of "friends," their treachery in full.
From the left and from the right
swinging scythes shall separate
the wheat from chaff, pompous people
Dressed up as something they are not.
Pay attention to the slip of tongue
and the Evil One slithering there
whispering words of supposed care.
You, too, who read this now beware
for there is no escape. Shed now your cape.
Return to grace in which we together are held before,
having forfeited your soul, you too are felled.
Portent of this peril and potent prophecy
came swift this morning with sun's ascent.
Call it distant possibility if you will but still
feel the sincerity with which I offer it up
And fill your cup with love and honesty.
See the desolation you have created,
true teachers you have berated. Then go.
Leave this land. Do not look back.
Follow the river's flow.
You will find me there
and I will be happy
to welcome you.
With the purest love with which He cleared the temple
and gathered up the chicks,
