I suppose, if I am picking up the
gist of the question that echoes
on the winds of such unexpected change
in your life, I might offer insight.
You have a burning question.
You want to know, as I have so very
many times, what it's for, how all
the devastation means anything.
Actually I do not have the answer
and am sorry to disappoint. But on the wind,
from that first question is born a second
and here I send back my heart's reply.
The second and better question
is who you are and how all the beauty
means everything. Notice now how life
led you back through revelation of a mystery.
The ashes, the debris, the scattered stars
I know so well—they are more than what they seem
and you shall be the Phoenix King, whether
our paths shall cross or not.
And there will be great celebration
in the love and liberation
and second youth
meant for you
