Waiting on the God of my salvation,
I wonder, do you consider still
these present troubles nothing
in light of what will be?

I held long to your promise.
How many eons? And was it
not you who spoke it too
before the age you wrote it?

Babel and the noise of confusion
that followed would hold me captive,
even standing strong, one of two
as two together with the holy One.

Yet this one thing I was granted:
to know within my heart that I am free,
to know it so completely that even in
this endless captivity, I am not bound

To any singular pursuit or defined
by the boundaries men have made.
Though I appear a prisoner, forlorn,
my life whittled down to nothing.

Still I walk by faith through a desert dream
seeing rivers multiply, seeking only
to let this Love from which life was made
spring forth from my broken heart.

Has not enough perseverance been produced?
And where is the hope, the spring, eternity?
Where have they taken my Lord?
I would fly with eagles

And not be weary of this world.
To sleep! To live in the arms of the angels
who come close to me in dreams...
And I will rest and reconsider

Whether perhaps I might hold fast
a little longer to the weeping, wandering
prophet's words and believe still
in this absent God who will not

Let me go. Even as I release
stillborn dreams from this body
and resign from my position,
filled still with a starlight wonder,

I walk on. Into the silent morning
and through this world's endless night,
caught up here in the Upside Down
only wishing to reside in something

That resembles the home within—
somewhere where all false stories
of who I am fall away, where there are
feathers and promises on the wind

And laughter in the light of love
that, in the dying dreams, overshadow
the long presence of pain and
set me free. At last,

In this home I have long envisioned,
this simple resting place, He comes
to meet me in the garden one day
and places his hand on my heart.

And then, after awhile, when I have
begun to see whatever it is I cannot see,
from his hand comes the dove
who leads us both to eternity.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
