Aware and informed, yes—
but only by being in formation,
certainly not informed. Saddened by
a friend's incapacity to comprehend,
again, that the failure to speak
and the propensity to think
such silence has no cost,
that nothing is gained or lost,
that this is what is plain to see
in the light of the day that dawns.
See with me now, using only
the eyes God gave you, how

The light came on.
The key cannot turn.
Guardians gather
out of thin air.
Furthermore, while I do
not yet know why it mattered, that it did
is certain—as certain as the swift
shuddering of those cloaked in shadow. I stand
in the center of the circle
of the three, well outside the reach
of reckless disregard
and closer than ever to
the light of life's eternal flame,
held in the love that flows today.
Hear this with ears that know pure truth.
Listen! God reveals how
The raven knows as I.
Her light shines on.
Hollow hearts may churn.
No rage can harm what
heaven holds dear.
