Would twirl and swirl,
spinning back to before heart

Broke in two pieces.
You would not have words but I know

You would be proud
that I can sit now in stillness,

Heal the darkness
or at least to live with it, meet it

With measure of
lightning you said I held inside.

I can abide
by what it is you have to say

But am too tired
to reach beyond the veil and pluck

Some lost meaning
from behind veil I would rather

Just walk through and
return to a memory of

Ever green and
blue sky days, laughter lingering

Grandmother on 
the porch singing and me catching

Up lightning bugs
in a jar long before I knew

About lightning
that lived in me. My eyes fail me

I do not see
