I mistook it as a mixup
of words due to medication
as she would often tout that she

Was like a queen, and in my eyes
she was. She whispered softly, "Look
at me. Who is the princess now?"

I corrected her, but she just
shook her head and looked very sad.
By the last week, she could not speak,

So, as I now recall, they were
last words I ever heard her say.
And they tell me nothing at all. 

Why would none of you be true ?
Would you not too want to know who
and whose you are, where you belong? 

I have fought all my life to breathe,
to live, to be. On top of that
I have sought to remove myself

The moment I knew someone made
mistake to betray for I've seen
too many times what will become—

Not because of anything I
have done but because I know
since I was little child life's love

Held me and has protected me.
God knows I wanted to die when
they made sport out of hunting me.

All who have turned on me I loved
and would have done anything for.
To watch their suffering brings me

No joy. Please do not put me through
it and understand God gives me
no favor to stop it even

When it has been for lesser things.
I have withdrawn. What do you want?
I wish now for all to be free.
