My strength became a weakness.
I so in my heart believed
in love's power, family.

As a child I clung to hope
I carried deep inside and tried
to forgive no matter what

They did to me. I believed 
all the treachery of so
many, even ones I did

Not know, would in time come clear
so long as I refused to
fear them more than I trusted

God. God only knows why, when
I many times left so much
behind, I did not release

All these or insist through world's
legalities that they be
held liable for damage.

Strength of faith held me; also,
it failed me in earthly eyes.
Hope and love kept me alive. 

Assessment of strengths that burned
or buried me in some ways
invites examination

Of how I perceive myself
as weak. I never mastered
practicality and have

Faltered when it came to strong
protection I needed and 
deserved. I did not see it

Soon enough to protect so
many whom I have loved. I
walked into traps set for me

Even when something told me
to turn and walk away. Too,
I justified animals

Needed love and kindnesses
even if their humans do
the bidding of some other. 

Yet such weaknesses became
in some ways strength to stand and
to prepare for final sweep

That disassembles my life. 
All now returns to zero,
line of possibility.
