Because the life in me has always been
so tuned in to the larger shifts of time,
clear in terms of the soul's clarion call,
I have not diverted attention to
life's finer things that seemed fleeting folly.

And, in honesty, some fierce guardian
of that devotion, seeing lack of
full protection's availability
to me in this place, did keep me distant
and removed—save for one who seemed to be

True friend and in the end, whether or
not, was only one who honored higher
purpose while all others mocked. Such fortitude
is easy target here. One's mind and heart
can stumble into traps. The body

Wears down and out, while eternal things live
forever. These are things I told myself.
So imagine my surprise to find that
what is needed now is just to receive,
to allow myself to show up open

With all my human failings fully seen,
to trust even without evidence that here
on earth in spite of all betrayal there
may yet be one true heart who would not.
And, even if not, to lay down my sword

Long enough to see it worth the effort.
The last laugh is on me. I'm the one who
needed to receive memorandum,
enter into rest, restoration and
reward, embody the revolution

And set myself free but not only from,
also for. It's not only simple life
but also true st love that can support,
can match desired frequency and catch
me when I cannot hold the love alone.
