Thrust into chaos and named the storm
by those who overlooked me, I was
solid ground, pure possibility
and strength waiting to be seen.

In sweltering heat that summer they
sent me to the shed day after day
when it is a miracle I lived,
I became the wind swirling.

Blamed for ruining everything when my
time came for me at inconvenient
moment in the past as they saw me,
I was a fountain of life.

When they turned against me for my light,
tried to snuff me out, I protected
flame that burns in me, one heart ablaze,
creation rising from ash.
