The seas were too rough that day
to sail to the Isle of Wight

Maybe it would have made me
too sad anyway for so

Many reasons: the sad queen
in family line having grieved

So long and lost so much life;
my memory of the angel;

Being, again, alone seeing
the world with wonder; and then

There was the way the rainbow
arced but then faded somewhere

Out in the vast rolling sea,
how it reminded me of

Unexpected departure
from lands we walked together.

Like a tether to my heart,
it took me to opening

I cannot quite describe. Yet,
somehow I knew I would see

This through and somehow it might
carry me home, back to you.
