Broken Wings

I have been feeling so depressed of late,
I haven't been in a mood to create,
My mind is now close to a blank page,
I'm afraid I'm almost at the final stage.

My spirit has been, to pieces, crushed.
All my thoughts seem to be hushed.
The words that once seemed to flow,
Now come to me ever so slow.

How can I rid myself of the pain?
Will my poetry ever soar again?
Will my broken wings ever heal?
I want once again to begin to feel.

I only want to be free once more,
Free to write about people I adore.
Free to write what is in my heart,
Free to express myself through my art.

To do this I must let go of the hurt,
And my sadness to joy, revert.
Only then will I be able to fly,
And not have to tell my friends goodbye.

I will then begin to soar again,
No longer will I have to practice restrain.
My broken wings will soon begin to heal,
And I will once again begin to feel.

jen,
we write from the heart,
when we hurt our writing hurts,
when we laugh our writing laughs,
'tis the nature of poets and th ere work.
we write the poem we are the poem...
thins will change and change again
and you will endure and triumph

Jenni, I agree with La Belle, just type what you're feeling at the moment, even if it's the butter you forgot at the supermarket

Those broken wings need a lending hand,
And tender care,
A little attention the will demand,
To get them once again fair.
Yet a doctor's aid,
Is closer than can be seen,
So don't be afraid,
Their soft, glowing sheen,
And that soft smile,
Will soon again shine,
But don't be sad all the while,
Hunny, that job is MINE! ;)

Great write :) I enjoyed, and can't say I'm not on the same boat. :)
Cheers,
~Kari~
