From A Man's Point Of View

I've always tried to imagine the pain,

From a man's point of view.

To imagine just how much of a strain

Not having children is to you.

I know the emptiness that a woman feel inside,

But what do YOU feel, pray tell.

How do you men cope when your baby has died,

Do you experience the same pure hell?

At times we feel we are the only ones,

And that we bear this burden alone?

It plays on our minds like silly reruns,

And sometimes turns our hearts to stone.

I know it must hurt you much the same,

Tho' you guard your secret well.

I often wonder if you lay any blame,

As you sit quietly in your shell.

Today, I got the answer to my question,

And it left me feeling so blue.

Today I was left with a lasting impression,

After I had that chat with you.

I know the pain you experience is real,

I know now, it is much the same.

Tho' you pretend you have a heart of steel,

You wish you had someone to carry on your name.

Unfortunately, we of the male gender often keep so much of our feelings hidden inside. Your words express both feeling and meaning.

Ah Jenni, You touch my very soul with this painful poem, I believe the pain and loss is very much the same, they just express it so differently, Outstanding poetry that moves me so deeply,

Soul touching write. When I lost my baby, these are the words from my ex that haunted me the most, and showed me he was in as much pain as I was. "The part that bothers me the most about not having a son is I will never be able to take him fishing."

What a touching write. We need reminding that men feel as deeply as we ladies even though the hide it better. A candle is lit for you and your friend.

You bring a lot of memories back to me when I was waiting for a child for ten years. Remember, with God all things are possible. One day two of you will smile.

As you already know, Jenni...I had lost my firstborn son the same day he was born from complications due to the neglect of doctors. It devastated me and the memory of his struggling for life will forever be etched on my mind. I became bitter and callous...blaming God for allowing these ills to occur. It eventually cost me my marriage and alienated me from everyone. It took years to even begin to function again but life could never be the same. In my case, things changed, and I finally have that baby boy that I shall forever cherish, just as I do the memory of my firstborn.

I've never lost one of my four children, thank God. Heaven forbid I do, I would know the deepest hurt many feel after losing a child. From what i've heard the pain is too painful.
Thanks for sharing Jenni........Love ya! Ron

I think the myth that men and women feel things in a different way is false. I believe we feel the same joys and sorrows, we may just respond to them differently. When it comes to a father and his children, I can say with all certainty, it touches us to our very core.
