A poem from a manuscript I have just finished. The manuscript is entitled, "The Drunken Poet".
Patience is a must as you tackle life
Our world is confusing with too much stress
The wilderness and the soft trees
The amazing water stunning me
Our silliest past times that do amuse
I really want to have more booze
A time was made for you and I
To gaze upon the friendly skies
The art is good and that is true
I have always wanted more of you
I need you near me by my side
Throughout everything in this life
We were meant to be together
Through thick and thin
Through stormy weather
The night pushes in hard as we coast
We'll hit another bar and then we'll boast
What a wonderful time I had
Drinking tall beers and relaxing through the night
Take me home
