Your first-born …

© By Kathy Armijo

Your first-born …

In this child you see

A small deity

Your first-born …

A child created so lovingly

You wonder about his destiny

Your first-born …

You felt so inept

So many times, you wept

Your first-born …

To cuddle and hold this child

Oh, how you smiled

Your first-born …

The thrill of watching him grow

Like watching a bird take flight … such a tiny sparrow

Your first-born …

Kissing away all the boo-boo’s

Wiping his nose gently with tissues

Your first-born …

Trying not to give into your parental fear as you watch him thrive

As he gives it his ALL, you know he’ll survive

Your first-born …

In this child, you see a glimpse of yourself

Always hoping he finds … love, happiness and wealth

My first-born …

Lived such a short time

He’s been gone such a long time

My first-born …

Led the way for his brothers into eternity

Now they are all together playing and loving … happily

There is sadness, grief and a plethora of emotion here that I cannot even begin to imagine Kathy. The only thing I am certain of is your tremendous love for your children as evidenced by this moving tribute. May peace be always with you. Jon Michael Willey

...in all the sadness...the beauty of your recognition of one love so much...and of all whom you Mothered...is so well penned...that the memory of any time you shared with them...will never be forgotten.

Heartbreaking is right. To bear such a loss is not natural. Parents are not supposed to have to bury their children and when they have to it is such a heavy loss. God Bless You. Liz

My dear Kathy--Anthony Michael gave you all that and more.
He lived an entire lifetime in those nine years and left a legacy of his own.
Our own greed wishes it were longer.
I know the feeling.
