Missing You

I wonder where you are

From my thoughts you are never far

I laugh at the recollection of your silliness

Reveling in your ‘tom foolishness’

I recall your serious face

Still, your eyes sparkled with mischievousness

I remember dancing in the kitchen

How you loved two steppin’

I nurtured your inquisitive mind

Finding the solution … a gold mine

Your energy was boundless

Your laughter … contagious

Your grasp of the obvious

Incomprehensible for such a novice

Until I can hold you in my arms …

I will treasure your childish charms

Knowing that when we meet on the other side of the rainbow

We will play forever in God’s meadow
