Years ago, I helped out a friend, who could no longer care for a Cat named Calley.  I took Calley in as my roommate, not wanting to see her put down prematurely at the Animal shelter, because she was no longer in the best of health.

It turned out that Calley was worse off, than anyone thought.  She was in kidney failure, the only way to make her comfortable was to hydrate her with an I. V. 

I could not afford to keep taking her to the Vet for this.  The Vet Doctor was very kind and taught me how to do this at home.  He gave me a discount rate on the supplies, needles and the I. V. solution. 

Calley responded very well to this treatment and survived for several months, without pain.  She was such a sweet animal, allowing me to insert the needle in the skin on the back of her neck, on a weekly basis, I know she sensed my aversion to the needles. 

Calley and I became the best of friends, then one day, it was time.  She had lost her hearing and had become senile.  I took her to the Doctor and held her while she went to Kitty heaven.  Another friend gave me a hollow pewter Unicorn after it was over.  I had many needles left over, I could not return them, so I placed them in a needle case, that belonged to my Grandmother the seamtress and put them in the Unicorn.

I share this story, because I found those needles the other day.  I thought my Higher Power had placed them in my path,  to remind me of a very humbling experience.

The God that I pray to, does work in the most magical ways, he is not a punishing God and always there when I need a reminder of lessons well learned.

Thank you God, for always looking my way, and reminding me not to judge.  Also, thank you Jeanie and Joe, for allowing me to take care of your sweet baby Calley Cat.
