parameters within the sight of an eye
hero’s glazed the stars over night
memory shifts of days gone by
weaving threads of radial light

as I layed upon an ancient burial ground
tribal ceremony and chants all around
they danced a vision of the spirit released
where we laid together in rows of fifteen

then the sun, the grass, and the silence absorbed
from this time occurring centuries ago
flew over the river as an eagle’s image
disappearing wings into a deeper forest

following rivers and then small lakes
beyond state borders were towns and remembered lawns
pieces of fabric torn and ragged
those emotions gone, i know, once had mattered

paraded as life once upon dreams
skipping past saplings then
walking under giants now
familiar heart space in between

i forgot the flags for dad’s grave
and i talked to him anyway
some days are good i told him
and life is just a work in progress

I echo Tinka, Debby. This is very well written as always, and I echo the last line..."and life is just a work in progress." Someone laughed at me, because I live my life as a female 24/7 now. I told him not to laugh at me, cause God isn't finished with me yet. Thnx for sharing Debby, this is really great. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little terrified sister, Barbie

"If I have to be this girl in me, Then I may as well be."
