been floating for days it seems in the endless lift of solar rays extending my leg towards the surface of being finding a grounding near impossible it seems but hey, no matters as I dreamed of a classroom without any students there was nothing to teach nor were there any learners all seemed in order and gaining momentum into what would be of another generation you are so sweet baby and a fine dandy-lion growling and purring with your eyes you shine and you shine time after time golden and blooming yet in the modest of breeze you blow into the wind and I’m spinning and swirling drifting and curling dangling my toes from a current off the pacified realm of blending polarities to the beauty that exists as you
Debby...this is a very intriguing write to me. It is love, has great rhythm, uses great imagery and metaphor. It has a light, carefree feel to it at first reading....but then when read again it evokes a kind of sadness.
The phrases, empty classroom, nothing to teach and no learners take the reader to another place where the carefree attitude speaks of frivolity.
This is an excellent piece of writing.
This is so delightful, Debby, and such a superb mix of metaphors with the thistledown matched against the dandy-lion. The tone is wonderfully light and yet purrrrrrrrrrrrs with the deep-throated satisfaction of the Big Cat after feeding time! :)) So unique and conjures a utopian idyll, of the strength of the lion, the gentleness of the lamb. Excellent write! I used to like dandilions when I was growing up. We used to dig up the plants, clean and cook them.They tasted almost like spinach..thanks for sharing !....M
as a child me and my sisters would blow them ...and watch them sail one by one
...then Mom would say ..what have you done.....next year I'm gonna make you dig em all up from my beautiful lawn....LOL
A profound write my friend...reminded me of that old song...Dust In The Wind...it seems that many of our students are disapearing, all across Kentucky the student enrollment is declining therefore creating a shortage of jobs for teachers, this year alone in our county more than twenty teachers were laid off! Most expect to return, but last year there were two teachers out of the multitude that was laid off that didn't return! Who knows what our future holds...with the new home school fad, private schools springing up everywhere, reduction in families, and the carelessness of socieity no one has a promise of tomorrow! Enjoyed this thought provoking write!
