corridor

while sitting quiet a vision comes
a long corridor with infinite doors

standing still there, a man approaches
thinking he’ll speak, i observe his form
a gentle calm with flowing hair
yet eyes fixed ahead, he walks down the hall

curious now just where i am
a child’s play need to peek behind doors
with caution i open the one i’m before
in still freeze frame, i view memories gone
with sigh i step back, been there done that
closing the door, i venture on
each one a view of where i had been

back in the hall, i sense an essence
take a glance back, he walks by again
sensing familiar and déjà vu taste
scent of something i need to remember

again he walks on, with an air of knowing
yet speaks no words, or looks my direction

is he a teacher, or a keeper of doors
why does he travel my memory hall
why is he here and what is he for
this time i’m aware he has no feet
he levitates the air and floats on the light

i try to run after, calling him to wait
but the faster i run, he is more out of reach
exhausted i stop and open a door
this one was empty, no memories created

knowing my life, is behind the doors
i walk past the future, and head for the now
the doors are unmarked, it is so hard to tell
and yet i allow me, to find the right one

an urge just comes, as i travel the hall
my hand reaches out, i open a door
just at that moment, he floats by again
but this time he glances, and shows me a grin

i slip through the door, take a deep breath
a quick look around, and i think outloud...
………Where am i now?

I agree with Peggy. Doors can open into new vistas in our fantasies.

Great vision. Enjoyed this one. I think of these doors as memories. You're now free and living in the present--no more doors.
