as the heat filled my entire being

with a blinding white light

I experienced the bliss and discomfort

of feeling melted within my core

as if my cellular structure sizzled

with energetic vibration

unaware, are the felines asleep

upon the foot of the bed

silenced in purrfect dreamlands

noticed by the occasional whiskers twitching

uncomfortably warmed this personal summer

seems to radiate from the heart center

I tossed and rolled  kicking off the sheets

get up, lay down

on my back, on my side

minutes became an hour then another

there is no pain only heat

intense heat

my calves cramp as I try to stretch

I get up then lay down

it is still night yet I see the

brightness of sunlight behind my eyes

am I awake or asleep

feeling every subtle nuance of sensation

upon my flesh tingling with discovery

my mind pulled inwards out of its mental realm

enclosed within the confines of physical structure

it is tight, suffocating, and surreal

to know this place and feel its existence

fully present and aware of the moment

then…dawn now peeking into the windows

it has been long laborious hours

sleep at last overcomes further analysis of the experience
