Excellent work. On another planet...in another corner of our universe...WE are a part of the sky. Odd to see someone say why is the sky up? I see it as ALL AROUND as when our planet rotates in its orbit Up is anywhere but on earth even the opposite side of our planet, right?

We know that space is the final frontier, but does anybody know that when you jump and your feet leave the ground you are actually in space? And what about the sky? Is the sky where heaven is, or did Jesus mean something else when you said heave above? We see a blue sky, the harmful rays of the sun filtering through layers of gases we call our atmosphere. The sky is a word man thought up, but when we speak of God and His house that has many rooms, we are not speaking about our sky, but the sky of eternity. The ether we will live in after we leave this life. So don't let the sun catch you crying for your hand that life dealt you, but hold your head up high and be proud that your Father watches over you through His son who has sent his angels to help guide us. Thank you Debby for this endearing piece that has a straight forward message of faith and love.

I've had similar thoughts so often,you captured the essence,well! I love being on the very top of a mountain that can look down to the places below where the sky goes way down below, all around you, out of sight. Fine poem, Debby!

And there's nothing like lying on your back under a great tree and looking at the sky through its limbs. One of my favorite meditations along with lying on my rooftop and star-gazing... "sky stuff" - great!
