catching up with 3

feline

he came with the wind

blew into the yard, all

orange and stripey

i didn't ask him to stay

but he did anyway

and now he’s stolen my heart

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
sunbeams
comforting
as they warm the morning dew
melting the frosting off the roofs
gentle they caress my exposed flesh
and relax me
into springs landscape
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

color on

color bursts from the neighbors lilacs

tulips open standing tall

green seems brighter upon the returning lawns

and shrubs leaf forward with reds and plums

awakened and fresh

new and alive

except... the suspicious

lack of color from the weeping cherry

perhaps it has not survived?

i contemplate its replacement

while maintaining hope it’s only tardy

and enjoying sleeping in a bit longer

Great little vignettes of awakening spring. I have an orange and stripy in my yard often from the neighbors' multiple cats. The other evening I was observing a little gecko feeding on the screen of my window when "Bam!" the squashed face of the orange and stripy hit the screen hard in the poor little lizard was an evening snack.

I have an apricot tree that has only bloomed once or twice and has never had fruit. It is the absolute last to have leaves in the spring, but the birds love it, so it stays.

Crisp, refreshing, thoroughly enjoyable poetry.
Caused me to look at familiar scenes in a new light.
Kudos!

A very unique (in my opinion) way to herald the early days of spring, and I found it very refreshing and thank you for being who you are and who could come up with this pleasurable poem
