i sit in my rocker
and gaze at the fire
mesmerized by warm
burning wood.. between the stones

my spirit travels
above the flames
and hovers into mystery
that watches.. their sights and sounds

hypnotized by each others eyes
the world disappears
for the moment of time
they stare upon each other

breathing deep of vision quests
a ring of fire surrounds their bed
within the flames they are not burned
but initiated ignited instead

sheltered from the coming storm
though winds may blow
and stones will hail
inside.. their design is calm

back again in my rocking chair
i shuffle cards of the universe
hold my hand.. to my head
and feel some relief of my headache
