it glows, it burns
brilliantly shining
our heavenly star
bringing warmth
to the world
praise be to all

in gentle caress
to shadowy places
its rays are fingers
its flare a tongue
that licks at the neck
the cheek, the arm

like a blanket
lain comforting across my lap
it shines through
the window and
peeks through the drapes
displaying its heavenly body

I fear not its approach
as it lays on my breast
for it is comfort
bringing warmth to
my world in this
cold winters nest
