This was written upon receipt of the news of the death of the child of some dear friends
I heard the news today and wept.
It's just not fair or right.
Something happened while she slept,
For she awoke in Heaven's light.
Why does God need her today?
I will never understand.
It shakes my faith I must say,
Though I know He has a plan.
So say a prayer for those still here;
That they can somehow make it through.
The sting of death we no longer fear,
Because she will be there for us, too.
For now we mourn her earthly time,
A precious life, so young and sweet.
We too, shall pass and then we'll find
His new angel in Heaven where we will meet.
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
