A Thanksgiving humorous poem. |
|
A dreary Thursday morning --
my favorite holiday is here;
I will eat too much again,
just like I did last year.
I've dressed and cooked the turkey,
I've baked some pumpkin pies.
Thanksgiving Day is here at last --
I wish the bread would rise.
For all the family's on the way
to share this bounteous feast,
and it will be a lovely meal --
though I forgot the yeast.
But man lives not by bread alone;
thank God for that I say.
So pass the corn and candied yams --
for it's Thanksgiving Day.
