Shadowy Moon
Strange how it is…still
(that echo...echo...echo...)
The whispering that I hear
Penetrates me like a knife
Waking me from my dreams…
Your voice stirs me to open my eyes
It’s dark in the middle of the night
Where the clouds hover like quicksand
My breath is calm and shallow
As I wonder if you can hear me…
I then feel the deep hole I buried
The well of sorrows I hold inside me
I am not sure where to put it all
So I spill inside myself…silently
Here in the darkest darkness
Releasing this grief to the universe
The rain will soon follow
…I hear the thunder
Shedding tears on these memories
Memories that You & I share
My heart weeps holding you still
Replaying moments I never seen
I feel as if a stampede has crushed me
As I reach to know these other facets of your soul
Lingering and hovering like the shadowy moon
But those are just wistful ideas
A comfort I acknowledge for an unknown truth:
We all tell our self the dead can see us…
