Gathering victuals totem
corn husk hair and boar roots
the raven drops her wing feather
alighting the raptures living vein
where stillness nests on sacred pinecone
with the overhead spying pinnacle nearby
while the faded reasons birth new prophecies
as the fortress of vision’s locket opens wide
kept neath the umber fires of a moon and lotus flower
whispering secrets beyond the gated gateway’s eye
