Poem Artwork

Eight years have passed and

I still remember the pain in

Your eyes that June afternoon

As though it were yesterday.

I wanted to reach out to touch

You – hold you – brush the

Tears from your eyes.

Instead, I sat – motionless –

Silent – fearing your rejection.

Every so often, you

Invade my thoughts –

Forcing me to wonder

How different our lives

Might have been if I had.

I believe we are and we do things when we are suppose to, some people have asked me how I felt about my first marriage going sour, I believe it had to for me to live the happiness that I live today. A great write and thank you for sharing Dawn.

I love how your poetry always draws me in and makes me feel as though it is me thinking, writing, saying, doing.... In the end it makes me contemplate what I would do in that exact situation. I also love the way you make the emotions in your poetry come alive, so that the reader can feel the same emotions...

Dawn - excellent poem about the choices we make or don't make out of fear. Like the sense of melancholy reflection at the end:

Every so often, you

Invade my thoughts –

Forcing me to wonder

How different our lives

Might have been if I had.

Enjoyed it. - David

This is so touching that I feel myself in tears. I hear the echoes of pain running deep in a loving heart that feared to venture a Touch that might have changed its life forever. Thanks dear Dawn

that depicts the roads of life...the one taken and the

Dawn, It is never too late to share your thoughts/feeling of a day gone by, it may be a welcomed Hug, just as it has touched all of us. No matter where your paths have lead. I am sure your friend would appreciate the sentiments. Warmth and Love, Carin'

Love the graphic that perfectly compliments this sad but all too real piece that we can all relate to. We all make choices in our life that we sometimes live to regret or at least always (as suggested here) wonder about. Good job.

I just love that photo, and have stolen it for my own dubious purposes. Your lines recall yesterdays in sweet loving phrases, and we can relate in one way or the other, of course. Yes, it was yesterday, but today and tomorrow, we still wonder how it could have been if... if... if? - Bill

Once again you combine nostalgia with the uniqueness and flow of words which is all your own to give is a sentimental "what if" scenario . . . Well done . . . But of course it is . . .
