Doing a little soul searching this morning.....

There is a feeling that sometimes

comes along ….the one that tells

you all is right with the world and

you and everything in it are

exactly where you are meant to be.

And on those occasions,

I desperately try to bottle it…

but before I secure  the lid, the feeling

begins to evaporate, much like vapor.

As mysteriously as it vanishes, I know that it will

return…the problem is, not  knowing when…

for as hard as I search for the answers,

they, beyond all doubt, reside within.

To listen without listening. Effort without effort, live like a moving river, don't fight the river, a river never fights obstacles, it gently overcomes them without effort. Always finding its destination.

SO TRUE...THAT STILL SMALL VOICE...WHISPERS HIS ASSURANCES AND SEEMS TO DEPARTS, THEN WE MUST HOLD FAST AND TRUST...BELIEVING BY FAITH AS WE PRESS ON AND ENDURE. FOR WE KNOW, 'GONE FROM VIEW', DOES NOT MEAN...GONE. SO NICELY DONE AND APPRECIATED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE AND BLESSINGS. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Undoubtedly our external world view is shaped by the machinations of what's actually going on inside: the micro always affecting the macro. One person's reality is not another - two people in the "same" situation will respond to it differently, according to the inner landscape at the time... But watch out for the sweet-smelling perfume to re-appear, Dawn! It will trigger the memory banks to recognise that THIS is the happy place and time come to revisit - and, hopefully, stay! Neat write as always. xx

I know this feeling well. Excellent poetry. I share your frustration, as I too attempt to be okay with things as they are and accept life on life's terms. But then you look around and say, all is not okay. This house is on fire. And if I don't take action, I too, shall certainly be on fire.

Those feelings, like dragonflies and butterflies, are too light to bottle I suppose, but they bring such gifts that we are on the right path, at least for a morning ~

I feel that way most mornings but when I hear the news of the world it evaporates and I'm brought back to reality.

Yes! I can be so thrilled with those moments, but I lament their brevity- and the fact that I can't share that view with loved ones who I feel may need them or deserve them more.
I just want to say, "Look!"
But there is nothing to see.
And the next moment- there is just oil- and the world is not OK.

Thanks for sharing.

In this poem you express so beautifully those fleeting moments when you are one with the world, and although the mood can evaporate the substance remains until the next time.
Peace to you Dawn, David

What great thoughts you placed on paper! Notice who is around you when the right moment happens. Notice where you are. Perhaps this is where you belong and these are the people you should be with more often. Amen
