Life sometimes, makes our children grow up so fast
Was it only yesterday
That I watched this child at play
A little boy with big blue eyes
Such a sweet and innocent smile
Running in the back yard
And at night catching fire flies
In the sand box at the park
With daddy watching, chest puffed out
He loved this little boy so
And would be so proud of the
Young man he has become
He stepped up, at the age of twelve
When his dad became so ill
He was there to wipe his brow
To tell his dad how much he loved him
Not only his son, but his friend
They talked, and cried
And loved so much
This time they had meant so much
And in the end
When dad was gone
He was there for me
My little man was all grown up

Sad, but tender poem of love and growing pains for a little twevel-year-old boy. I felt this.
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
