This was an exercise to write a poem about something that made me happy today. (Photograph by Jo Janoski)

Morning Bright

Across the moist green grass
a ray of soft light touched.
It was a magic wand
igniting morning gems.

Warmth walked across the grass
in soft slippers of spring
and scattered seeds of life
with April's awesome powers.
