ELUSIVE

It flows through my fingers
like drops of silver rain.
Breathless, run to catch it
as the wind scoops some up
and sails away with it.
Elusive Time, you are
forever in my sights
but never in my hand.

Sun

Sun artist in sky
Orange rays sweeping canvas
Painting earth below.


Moon

Moon hangs in blue sky
Hiding centuries of dreams
In its dark valleys.


Rain

Drops dance in sweet air
Mixing with children's giggles
On a summer day.

APRIL AND THE LAKE

APRIL

Resolute crocus lifting its head
to a sunny April morn.
Soon yellow daffodils will shine
with a new spring born
in color and wondrous blooms.


THE LAKE

Blue lake shimmers and glows
as boats race like bullets
spewing up foam behind them
cutting trails through the water
on voyages to go nowhere.

Man fishing in the sun,
water glimmers in his daydream
and quiet envelops his solitude.
It is a great day
for fishing in the sun.
