...an Irish Ballad to the garden's beauty .

Powerscourt we now can see
the Gardens full to view
‘tis here I wish my soul to be
lost in the morning dew.
Lost in the morning dew;
this is my only plea,
to speak my love for only thee,
from my heart these words be.

Walk the garden path with me,

below the Grand Estate,

feel the breeze on us so free,

soft as our love is great.

And this shall be my fate:

to stroll the path with thee;

keep our love for eternity…

this be our destiny.

*Powerscourt Gardens and Estate, just south of Dublin, was one of the  notable remembrances of my trip to Ireland; its beauty enthralling.

This is lovely, it has a real music to it which reminds one of classical Irish poetry. You really take the reader there without overloading it with too many descriptive words.

Jackie,

I hope to go someday as well - my ancestors came from County Caven ... this is a beautiful, very well-penned poem - enjoyed!!

Best wishes,

Robert

Jackie, This is a very beautiful poem. It touched my heart a little too. It also reminded me of trips to Ireland where I was born. You have seen a few things in Dublin that I did not see and will look for the next time. Places I enjoyed were The Hill of Tara, though nothing stands there now it was nice to trod where Brian Boru and Malachi had stood. I also enjoyed Glendoloch, Killarney, The ring of Kerry, Ballybunion, Connamara and the Giants Causeway.
Thanks for the memory.

Pat.

Enjoyed the pictures very much, Jackie, and this is a lovely poem.

Just watched a program on PBS about Dublin, too, and it looked lovely.
