But once shall I pass this way,
shall I miss all that I can see and do?
Life’s moments may be all too few,
so I shall live and enjoy each day.
From my happiness I will not stray;
if I thirst, I will sip from morning’s dew.
But once shall I pass this way,
shall I miss all that I can see and do?
Blessed am I when I rise each day:
when I hunger I will feast on memories I renew –
for the day I will not fear what may ensue,
I will fervently greet come what may,
But once shall I pass this way…
(shall I miss all that I can see and do?)
