It's Spring, and I'm taking wing with my fancy!
I'm happy, and I want to fly and soar to my contentment;
high, way up among the cottony soft clouds of freedom.
I want to flow softly to the Earth and take in all its beauty
and the beauty of all it's people.
It's Spring, and I want peace for my fellow man;
I want greed and intolerance and wars and hunger
to be something read about in past history books.
something that no longer exists in the mind of man.
And I want contentment for all the people.
It's Spring, a time for rebirth and new beginnings;
a time for all of us to look deep into our being
and be able to cry out "Hey, look at me, I am somebody".
A time for people to say "I know something good about you"
then treat every single person just that way.
It's Spring; a time to plant the seed
for that which we hope to reap when our winter nears;
a time to cast the weeds from our darkened souls,
and take in only the nutrients of care and loving
for survival of ourselves and our fellow man.
It's Spring; yes, a new beginning that was given to us
at the cost of God's own Son, so that we shall not perish.
Shall we squander this new beginning? Shall we let it pass us by?
Or shall we be understanding of all peoples and faiths and cultures;
thus, casting out our fears and showing a true beauty within ourselves.
Yes, it's Spring, and I am alive and happy and soaring
to the height of my most imaginative being.
Then I flow softly to the Earth and take in all its beauty,
and the beauty of all its people.
And I thank God for spring and renewal and rebirth and hope.
Ironically, when I wrote this, it was the fourth anniversary of my quadruple bypass. It's absolutely marvelous to be alive, ...now....here...feeling...touching...soaring...reflecting.
