Oh, what a Woman

That’s a W-O-M-A-N

Not short on words

and she had something to say.

Agree with her politics or not,

you couldn’t overlook her wit.

Most all may remember

“He was born with a silver foot in mouth…”

But the best was (speaking of Daddy Bush):

“Ya’all’ve   heard George speak a lot,

but Ah’m here to tell ya…thisss is whot

a True Texan sounds like!”

Oh, for sure, Ann

I heard you loud and clear;

a politician I was proud to support;

proud to have worked in your elections.

From her early political life

she worked for the people.

State Treasurer before Governor,

our “till” was safe in her hands.

Never in the back pocket of Enron,

or Halliburton…or Saudi oil.

You were backed by the “little people”,

By those that needed your spunk!

Yeah! I’m proud of you, Lady;

proud of your accomplishments for our state;

proud of what you did for even me.

You were a W-O-M-A-N!
