...a Wintry monorhyme (assignment from a Workshop)
Winter comes and Winter goes and in the meantime there may be snows. Snow I don’t mind, but not ice, God knows. With ice you get North wind that blows and paint your face with a glowing nose; not to mention painfully frosted toes
As Winter comes and North wind blows your sinuses become raging flows; your eyes no longer contain Heavenly glows. Cautiously, we maneuver the ‘tos’ and ‘fros’ from door to car, find the lock has froze, unprotected it’s sealed, a solid close.
Slipping and sliding, everyone goes back into the house to try to compose a day indoors; we will now enclose our bodies in warmth, our feet in wool hose. Hot chocolate, popped corn, our favorite shows, make for happy times evading Winter's Ice throes.
O! How I DO love Winter snows, just don't like when the Ice Storm blows!
You are so right Micke
Snow I can take though I hate to shovel
Ice I hate it's dangerous all around
Brings down trees and tel. & electric poles
unable to walk, cabin fever time.
Excellent write
I'll take the snow anyday or a ice storm; but we in Onatario, are complaining we havn't had any snow, and no snow for Christmas is just not Canadian and very unusual. Oh, well we get what we get and make the best.
Winter, Jackie? What's that? Certainly not here, in Texas...........LOL I'm afeared all we get down this way is ice storms. Oh, and tornadoes.................LOL Supposed to be cold by Sunday, with yes...you guessed it...ice LOL. Still and all, a beautiful write, stay indoors, stay safe!
Winter?? We haven't had winter yet here in Texas; crazy weather we are having this year! But by this weekend, we are due for a Canadian Crippler; we are due to get collllllllllllllllld with possible ice or snow! YIKES! About time, I'd say, I don't do mild weather in winter!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
(I'll be careful if I go out; don't need to be bustin' me rump...hard to walk on ice or snow on crutches...*Grins*)

I can never relate to this, dear Micke. We don't get snow, we don't get ice. Occasionally it hails but the hailstones are gone within minutes. Still you paint a lovely picture. Like Jo, you did well with a same ryhme poem on winter. Victor
I got the chills just thinking about those storms Jackie. My first wife and me used to live in north/western Arkansas for a year and a half, around Rogers, and we had to endure freezing rain storms there. In the mornings tree branches would be all over the roads and up to a foot of ice covering the tops of the vehicles. A real challenge to get to work it was!
