I'm Liberal and Proud

I'm angry! Angry at those who
have been misrepresenting
the word Liberal.
Check your dictionary and you'll find
the word derives from "favoring
non-revolutionary progress or reform"!
 
Yes, I'm proudly Liberal.
Liberal in the Old-Fashioned way;
Liberal for rights and freedoms.
I'm Liberal and Christian
and don't find those words
to be contradictory.

I'm Liberal enough to support rights
to get off your arses and get a job if your healthy
and become productive citizens.
Liberal enough to tell you
that having babies out of wedlock
is not a fad, or cute, or a "woops".

I'm Liberal enough to support freedoms;
but that does not include you're careless
and thoughtless use of guns.
You want to "stick-up"? Put it behind you,
and shove as hard as you can.
That's MY idea of a perfect gun stick-up!
(shocking!)

Liberal enough to tell you that freedoms do not
include disrespect for our country and its language.
English it is, and without all the explatives!
Just because you have the Right to say what you want,
doesn't mean you Have to shame your family and self
by speaking, singing, rapping your gutter-words!

And while I'm speaking Liberal-ly
Pull up your pants! Boys/men - girls/women.
Why do you think that what you expose
is something everyone whats to see?
First stand before a long mirror and find
that what you show is so ugh-leeee!

I'm Liberal enough to understand
that mistakes are made and forgiven...
one time
after that they become a disgrace
that WE allow if not speaking out
or provide better examples for the young.

I'm Liberal enough to believe
that All people have a right to enjoy
our beautiful Parks and Forests
and their creatures; also Liberal enough
to shout to you DO NOT DESTROY!
These are for enjoyment, not abuse!

I'm Liberal enough to believe
there may have been carelessness
and greed on one's part to have lost what you
couldn't have paid for in the first place.
And now you want my help to get you out of
your self-imposed problems? Liberal ain't foolish!

Remember: I'm Liberal and Proud
in the Old Fashioned Way
and can draw a line in what is
the Peoples needs, not stepping
into the wants of
"Passing over and beyond the Joneses"

Liberal does not mean disruption
or overlooking ethical wrongs
of the people,  leaders in our governments,
or in our corporations, so common now.
Liberal means "favoring non-revolutionary
progress or reform" PROGRESS - REFORM!

Yes, I'm a Revival:
The Old Fashioned Liberal and proud of it!
