...now what would St. Paddy's Day be without Limericks??

Poem Artwork

Irish Limericks for 2009

There is an Auffray from Albert-a
who tried to write a concert-a
tho his music he retired
his words are admired,
now the Auffray is considered a bard-a

And a darned good one, at that!

  ~~~
There was an old man from Moher
who told wife he'd go hunting boar,
but there is the riff
wife then threw a tiff
knowing there were no boar at Moher!
Fer shame on you, mon!
   ~~~

There once was a man from Kildare
who many a lass he would scare
he'd drink too much stout
and then would he shout
"Come love me, lass, if you dare!"

Alas, the lass did not dare...

   ~~~
For many a month I'm Kapoot
feel as someone gave the the boot
on my backside it came
left me riling in pain
and my wit blackenin' like soot.
But not on St Paddy's Day...
Oh! And HAPPY ST. PADDY'S DAY BLESSINGS TA YE ALL
May you have a warm pot o' lamb stew on the stove,
warm soda bread in the oven, and a foamin' Shamrock
a'top yer pint o' Guinness!!
and a Happy St. Pat's Day to you, Micke! Limericks always catch my eye...I love them. My favorite of these is the personal one, except it is sad albeit entertaining. And as for the man from Kildare, I'd run the other way, and probably not take time to look for a lucky shamrock. Thanks for sweeping the soot away for today.
Connie
