A sonnet - Poe Style
We catch a word of value, then it is fleetingly gone from us...
FLEETING THOUGHTS
All the pond'rous words I've chosen, as I hold them to my bosom,
seem to flee on moments notice high up to the sky.
While I wearily do puzzle - while my brain is all afuzzle -
pen in hand I write them down before they die;
quickly write them down before they die,
lest they soar up to the sky.
Thoughts, although they do evade me, are my heartfelt memories of thee,
drifting sad or happy thoughts that oft' I shant deny.
Here I sit with thoughts ableary - sit with body oh, so weary -
mindful of our moments spent in such delight;
quickly write them down before they fly,
fleetingly away they fly.
Wond'rous peace where are thee hidden, won't thee come to me as bidden
come to soothe my soul that long has been denied.
Here I wait upon your motion - wait as life without a notion -
of a sightful thought of what the future be.
As I waited with wounded soul that cried;
as I waited, as you lied.
With each night my soul has savored, just to be as one who's favored...
favored once more to be again, alone, with thee.
Is this too much to be asking - as with love I'm gently basking -
for my words to safely stay with me?
Stay with me a time and then be free...
free to fly away to only thee.

An exemplary sonnet ... superb style and verse - excellent!!
