Verse 1
A baby cries into the night.
His mama rushes to his side.
She picks him up and holds him close,
A blanket of comfort soothes his soul.
And she whispers:

Verse 2
Doc walks in, his face is grim.
He stares at the boy so tired and thin.
He tries to hold his tears in check
As he tells him cancer's made him sick.
And he whispers:

Verse 3
The little boy lays in his bed.
No strength left or hair on his head.
His mama sat on his bed nearby.
She held a tissue as she cried.

Verse 4
She hugged him tight and he went still
Her grief flowed freely at its will.
She shed her tears for her little boy,
