When a friend of mine was dying, I wrote this for him -- and me.
WE’LL LET TODAY BE OUR FOREVER In a dream I found your essence/ You were all I could expect/ With your spirit free/ And a love for me/ Never wanting to possess And knowing you has brought me blessings/ In the way I’ve learn to love/ Willingly I give/ Leaving you to live/ Never wanting to possess. We’ll let today be our forever/ We’ll make it all that it can be/ We’ll let today be our forever/ If today is all we’ll see/ When tomorrow comes/ And one of us is gone/ We’ll let forever have been today.
