Platinum (Jacks Den Challenge)

I wrote this a while back with no one particular in
Mind. Somehow I feel it fits what I feel in my heart
I embrace you all –

Friends are minted in many different alloys.

Some are like cast pot metal, based on utility, they
Last only briefly and break at the slightest stress.

Others are like aluminum, they take a lot of heat and
Pressure until they melt into a shapeless puddle.

A few are like stainless steel, they're durable and
Withstand the corrosive tears that moisten our lives.

Silver describes those that are unique and valuable,
Yet who tarnish if not protected and polished.

Golden can only describe those that are found rarely
In a lifetime, and shine regally above the rest.

And then there is the Den Family…

Everyone forged of the strongest, most valuable and
Everlasting of all the metals…

Platinum.
