The Future

What will be, who could now guess?
The future waits, not to impress
It simply, quietly, now invites
Us all to craft more days and nights

The days and nights are empty now
The choice is ours to fill them - how?
Each choice we have, each act we make
Will bring new tides, make no mistake

The power within you know is real
It's spooky, what will be the deal?
Be sure you're ready, for things move fast
Awake with nets, it's time to cast

The catch will be whatever you've planned
Intent builds castles from water and sand
Be not afraid to grasp the wheel
It could be ink, or breath, or steel

The medium holds no sway with me
It's not just art we need to see
The call is greater than earthly mud
Though passion involves both sweat and blood

So keep on rising from the mire
More lessons learned, you'll rise still higher
And when the answer comes at last
The future shines with dreams which passed
