Today's Poem

Love Will Win

Love will win, ignore the rest
No money or power will stand the test
And as for lust, it falls in flame
When faced with love, all else is lame

And every mind and heart will know
How strongly love can change life's flow
And how its endless depths are hid
From every other claim or bid

These words are not to be discussed
They hold the truth, so heed you must
And if the truth won't be enough
Then sorry times will come, they must

Ignore in peril the call of love
No thing on earth or thing above
Could argue or reject its call
When love is there, it conquers all

But take great care when faced with this
Love doesn't guarantee your bliss
A battle ahead, a stormy sea
Yet fight on through, for faith's the fee

And if you find you've been deceived
Then blessed are you to have believed
For love is real and all will see
That on our death-bed, just one plea

The plea is that we loved enough
We cared and tried, we didn't bluff
Amidst the noise and childish games
We rose in honour and fanned the flames

For burning are the hearts of all
Respect this love and hear its call
No matter what you've seen or know
True love will win, true love will grow
