Today's Poem

War

In war none win, it's full of lies
And when hope dies there's no surprise
We'll not accept this paradigm
We're watching and we see your crime

The words we read can change our minds
Subliminal powers in music blinds
Look far beyond the daily rap
When truth comes it's a thunderclap

And waking from a sleep of years
Each soul will see they played our fears
Whilst opulence and greed rage on
The masses weep as dreams are gone

There's nothing glorious in this mess
You're parading pigs in fancy dress
Expecting us to sing along
But we might sing a different song

So rise above the vice and stain
Of treacherous illusory gain
The games we play are dead, seek more
But never play the game of war
